The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, today hosted in a meeting the Director for International Cooperation of the Austrian Accreditation Agency, Maria Weber, who is also the main expert of ENQA, with which he discussed the improvement of the quality in higher education, the improvement of the legal infrastructure and the intensive work for the return of Kosova to ENQA and EQAR, two important European mechanisms in the field of education.
In this meeting, in which the general director of KAA, Naim Gashi, was also present, Minister Nagavci said that the draft law on the Kosova Accreditation Agency which is in the Assembly, is one of the most important draft laws, since with this draft law it is provided for the independence of KAA and quality assurance in higher education.
Among other things, Minister Nagavci emphasized the support of students with scholarships, especially the financial support for girls who study in STEM fields, while she announced that the participation of girls and women in Kosova in these areas is greater than in the countries of the region and Europe.
The Director for International Cooperation of the Austrian Accreditation Agency, Maria Weber spoke about the visits to two public universities and two private colleges in Kosova and the work of AKA as an independent institution, responsible for internal and external quality assurance in the Republic of Kosova.
