A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING IS SIGNED FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF ICT SKILLS IN THE EDUCATION SYSTEM

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Professional Association of Informatics of Kosovo (PAIK), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of advancing ICT skills in the education system.

The main focus of the cooperation is the support and support of the Ministry in the implementation of dual learning for ICT profiles in public IVETs, based on the model approved by MESTI.

This agreement, among other things, envisages the establishment of coding clubs/Development and continuous updating of curricula of ICT profiles for IVET, MESTI’s support in the implementation of dual learning in IVETs with ICT profiles and the interconnection of vocational schools with the labor market, the organization of skills competitions as well as the professional development of teachers.

Also, the promotion of ICT professions and IVETs that provide profiles at the country level, providing training and mentoring sessions for teachers of ICT profiles of the respective IVETs.

The Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, said that MESTI is working hard to expand dual learning in other profiles, recalling that until now the school-work learning is implemented in four profiles.

Bekim Kasumi, executive director of the Association, said that initial expectations for ICT dual learning are good.

PAIK is a representative of educational organizations and ICT businesses, educators, computer specialists, researchers and professionals, created with the aim of supporting the digital transformation of society, developing digital skills, promoting Kosova as a destination for ICT outsourcing. ut, the promotion of ICT professions in Kosova, networking within the country and with members of international ICT associations, promoting entrepreneurship skills, supporting businesses, facilitating foreign direct investment in the ICT field, transferring knowledge and facilitating the implementation of dual learning.
