THE PEDAKOS PROJECT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION ENDS

The PedaKos project for early childhood education, which has ended today, which started to be implemented in 2018 and was supported by the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development and implemented by the Nel Mundo Volunteer with the support of the Italian Embassy in Kosova.

At the closing ceremony of the project, the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci said that early childhood education is one of the priorities of the Government and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.

“For less than two years, we have witnessed this in the improvement of legislation by finalizing the Law on early childhood education, as well as many other policies”, she said. Minister Nagavci emphasized that the PedaKos project has been our companion in early education. Today, as we mark the end of this project, we remain confident that our collaborations with Volontari nel Mondo, RTM and Italy as key partners will continue in the future.

Speaking about the work being done in this direction, the minister emphasized that we are also working on the curriculum for early childhood education, which is expected to be finalized within this year, while other documents such as the Nutrition Guide have also been finalized, while in the Education Strategy 2022-2026, as well as in the National Development Strategy, until 2030, early childhood education occupies a very important place.

“For this year, we have planned 6.5 million euros for the construction of new nurseries as well as other activities that will enable us to increase the involvement of children in early childhood education and have quality education,” said Minister Nagavci.

Meanwhile, the ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, spoke about the importance of this project and said that the continuity and sense of a common identity is the legacy that PedaKos gives you.

The president of Reggio Children, Cristian Fabbi, said that many communities have been involved in this project, adding that every child has their own rights.
