Was inaugurated the Innovative Centre of MEST and project “Showcase Classroom” began

Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Arsim Bajrami, Minister of Public Administration, Mr. Mahir Yagcilar and director of the “Microsoft” company for Kosova and Macedonia, Mr. Ljupco Georgiev, have inaugurated the Innovative Centre of MEST and announced the “Showcase Classroom” project, which will be realized within this Centre and will be supported from the “Microsoft” company.

Opening of the Innovation Centre, Minister Bajrami has praised as significant event, because it will be a promotion of the products of the “Microsoft” company in the modernization of the education sector. We will present Microsoft Office 365 platform, a very important platform, which will enable training for various stakeholders in the education system, starting from teachers, in order to give a contribution to the modernization of the education sector”.

Minister Bajrami said that one of the instruments to raise the quality of education is the modernization, or digitalization of the education system and this is just one step toward digitalization of the educational system, which will contribute to the quality increase and faster insertion in the use of the information technology at the education system.

In addition, Minister Bajrami said that the “Microsoft” company is a leading company in the world, which has promoted the products in many countries in education, a field in which will help the Kosova, “so that we can work with each teacher, so that he/she create skills from using the information technology in the teaching process”. 



“The teacher of the 21st century cannot be thought without information technology skills, because we have today to demonstrate new methods of teaching, which through digital learning, will broadcast to students European standards of teaching and at the same time will be enabled to have a better management in schools”, said minister Bajrami and stressed that the Centre will began with trainings, starting from teachers, directors and other education system stakeholders. 

Minister Bajrami said that this is one of the products related to the product of MEST, which we call e-schools and foresees the creation of a portal at the national level, where will be promoted all digital contents.

While, Minister of Public Administration, Mr. Mahir Yagcilar said that, based on the fact that innovation and information technology are crucial in opening up for new opportunities to increase competition and enhance national priorities, and even our state aims to strengthen skills to compete in the global market. “In this context we must increase digital inclusion, to improve the education system and prepare young people for the global economy”, said Minister Yagcilar.

Director of the “Microsoft” company for Kosova and Macedonia, Mr. Ljupco Georgiev, meanwhile, said that this is a result of joint efforts. He stressed that this innovative centre, enables education policymakers and other interested parties and with influence, to work and to learn how the programs and platforms of “Microsoft” in the education act and raise the skills of the 21st century.  



The project will provide a continuous development and modernization of teaching in Republic of Kosova through the implementation of modern technologies ICT. Also, will be piloted the platform for communication and collaboration Office 365 for Government and Education.
