Minister Nagavci participated in the public hearing on the Draft Law on the Kosova Accreditation Agency

The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, participated in the public hearing on the Draft Law on the Kosova Accreditation Agency (KAA), organized by the Committee on Education, Science, Technology, Innovation, Culture, Youth and Sports, with chairman Ardian Gola, in collaboration with the HERAS Plus project.

This public hearing was attended by representatives of public and private institutions of higher education, representatives from the academic world and various experts, while other hearings with interest groups are planned.

Minister Nagavci, on this occasion, stressed the importance of this Law for ensuring the quality of education in the country, while emphasizing that serious treatment will increase the quality of the law.

The Minister said that this draft law envisages the independence of KAA and quality assurance in higher education, while talking about the organizational structure, stressed that it is foreseen that the State Quality Council, as a decision-making and policy-making body, will have 6 local members, 3 international, as well as the director of the Agency, a student representative and a representative from industry, as non-voting members.

After talking about the way this Draft Law was drafted and the parties involved in its drafting, Minister Nagavci said that it is important to have a quality legal basis, in order to have genuine policies in higher education.

Whereas, the chairman of the Commission for Education, Ardian Gola, said that he expects a contribution from the representatives of higher education institutions and their proposals will be taken into account, in order for the Law on the Kosovo Accreditation Agency to be of the highest quality.
