MESTI AND NGO- YMCA MOVEMENT SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and the NGO- YMCA MOVEMENT signed a Memorandum of Understanding which aims to promote non-formal education, with a special focus on promoting and strengthening extracurricular activities and development of various activities for young people, within the Project “Center for non-formal education”.

Minister Arbërie Nagavci on this occasion stressed that activities of this nature are extremely important and necessary for the educational development of students and building their careers in the future.

Nagavci also said that extracurricular spaces offer opportunities for developing critical thinking and solving emotional problems, making them more social and more cooperative with each other.

While, the director of the NGO-YMCA MOVEMENT, Dorina Davies said that the extracurricular activities offered by the Youth Centers of the NGO-YMCA MOVEMENT in different municipalities of Kosova, have as a model Western practices in non-formal education of children and youth and aim to increase the capacities of institutions working in this direction in the Republic of Kosova.

The project “Center for non-formal education” is expected to be launched on June 1 and bring international experience in the field of non-formal education for students of lower and higher secondary schools, in line with European Union standards.

YMCA MOVEMENT is a member of the European Federation YMCA, also the first youth organization in the world founded in 1844 in London.
