The Pedagogical Practice Corner was inaugurated at the Faculty of Education, within the “Integrated Education and Development in Early Childhood” project, which will be used by students of the Preschool Program to practice their pedagogical skills.
This corner will support the continuation of studies for students who are faced with a lack of care and education alternatives for their children during their studies. Minister Nagavci, on this occasion, emphasized that it is a pleasure to be part of this special event for the Faculty of Education, for the professors, and in particular for the students and children who will be part of the educational activities of this Corner.
Nagavci said that I hope that such a practice will be continued in other faculties, as it is an added value for the education process of young educators. She appreciated that this Corner eases the burden of parenting for female students, who simultaneously want to study and fulfill their parental obligation.
Among other things, Minister Nagavci said that she hopes that in the future we will have more male students in this faculty, and that this relief for parenting will be used by those fathers as well.
The Minister also spoke about the special importance that is being given to increasing involvement in Early Childhood Education and the work that is being done to improve the legal framework and physical infrastructure for this level, including the Draft Law on Early Childhood Education Early, which will soon be forwarded to the Assembly for approval.
Nagavci reiterated that, in the budget of the Ministry of Education for the year 2023, 6.5 million euros have been provided for the construction of new nurseries and 243 new staff positions are planned for the nurseries that are expected to be operational.
The project for the inauguration of the Pedagogical Practice Corner is supported by UNICEF in Kosova and implemented by the Faculty of Education of the University of Prishtina.
Within this project, over 300 educators from all over the country have been trained for 6 training modules as part of their continuous professional development, and other activities aimed at increasing the quality of early education have been organized.
This center aims to promote the development of the practical skills of the students of the Preschool Program in the Faculty of Education, who, under the supervision of the mentors of the Faculty of Education, will carry out practical learning while caring for the children of students or other members of the Faculty of Education.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education-UP, Blerim Saqipi, and the head of UNICEF in Kosova, Nona Zicherman, also spoke about the importance of the Pedagogical Practice Corner.
