HOUR OF CODING WEEK HAS BEGUN IN KOSOVA

Within the framework of the global Hour of Coding initiative, the Hour of Coding week has begun today in Kosova, in which case the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci participated in activities with the 6th grade students of LSPSch “Green School” in Prishtina.

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with SHPIK and Code.org, will implement the Hour Of Coding global initiative, which will be held from November 13 to 17.

Minister Arbërie Nagavci said that the Hour of Coding aims to prepare and encourage students to learn coding, where during the Hour of Coding week, schools and partner centers will organize coding courses, projects, presentations and informative sessions about coding, artificial intelligence and computer science.

“Today, in more than 300 schools in each municipality of the Republic of Kosova, students are implementing the Hour of Coding, together with their teachers. I wish you many successes, pleasure with you not only being so interested and enthusiastic, but also that you have exceeded expectations at this stage”, said Minister Nagavci.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Education, Taulant Kelmendi, said that these activities and this enthusiasm hopes that it will serve as a motivation for other students and that next year over 300 thousand students who are in the pre-university system of Kosova will have the opportunity to access this platform.

Hour of Coding is a global initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org to teach millions of students around the world one hour of computer science and programming lessons.
