THE PILOTING OF KOSOVA’S INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH WAS PRESENTED – KRIS

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, in close cooperation with Heras Plus and Researchcult presented the concept, vision and long-term and short-term goals of the KRIS system.

KRIS (Kosova Research Information System) for Scientific Research will serve as a platform for collecting and storing data for scientific research, but also as a regulatory mechanism in providing more standardized information in research.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Edona Maloku Bërdyna, on this occasion has emphasized that the piloting of KRIS is a joint success of all and an important point of moving forward in the field of research and innovation. She also added that the piloting of KRIS, comes at a very good time because now the National Science Program is being finalized, which is expected to be approved by the Government soon. Maloku Bërdyna said that combined, KRIS and the National Science Program mark an important step for the promotion and strengthening of scientific research and innovation in the country.

Meanwhile, Sandra Horina, head of the Austrian Office for Development and Cooperation said that the piloting of KRIS contributes to scientific research work and is one of the indicators of the development of high standards in this sector..

Otherwise, KRIS offers the possibility of generating research data results for MESTI, researchers, students, policy makers and other interest groups such as: Kosovo Statistics Agency and Kosova Accreditation Agency. The piloting with the institutions selected in the sample will be done in the following period, after the piloting KRIS will be launched for the wide use of institutions and professionals in the country and in the diaspora.
