Was marked the 50th anniversary of the Higher Pedagogical School in Gjakova and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the University “Fehmi Agani”

Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Shyqiri Bytyqi attended the 50th anniversary of the Higher Pedagogical School and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Gjakova “Fehmi Agani”.

Minister Bytyqi on this occasion said that the Higher Pedagogical School was an institution for whose establishment many teachers and intellectuals of the time were sacrificed solely to open the paths of knowledge.

“Youth needed education, the country needed patriotism. It was a sacred duty to achieve our goals for state-building, but education continues to be always holy. Today in this modern time, when we have achieved our goal for the state, still upbringing and education of the youth remains sacred. We must commit ourselves in creating generations of intellectuals who will strengthen the growth and development of our state”, said Minister Bytyqi.

Among other things, Minister Bytyqi said that the Ministry of Education in the context of quality improvement is continuing with pre-school education up to university level, because we want to have a prepared youth for the internal labour market and the European market.

Speaking about the tradition of the Higher Pedagogical School and the 5th anniversary of the University “Fehmi Agani”, Minister Bytyqi said that Gjakova is a place of education tradition, a place from which distinguished intellectuals like Ali Hadri and Fehmi Agani have emerged, while he wishes that this institution to continue with such levels of staff preparation. 

Finally, the minister congratulated 220 graduate students of this University, as well as 60 scholarship beneficiaries. Otherwise, HPSch was the first institution in Kosovo where Albanian language learning was conducted and where young people from all Albanian areas attended learning. Today, this institution has 3300 students. In this ceremony was also present Minister of Infrastructure, Pal Lekaj.
