Minister of Education, Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Arsim Bajrami based on provisions of article 18 of the Law on Higher Education in the Republic of Kosova, has appointed four (4) members of the Steering Council of University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.

Academic Alajdin ABAZI,
Univ. Prof. Dr. Sigurd HÖLLINGER,
Associ. Prof. Dr. Ahmet LATIFI.
– Prof. Dr. Ismet Salihu, lawyer, ordinary professor. He was engaged in Law Faculty of University of Prishtina from 1967 in the field of criminal law. Dr. Salihu has completed studies at the Law Faculty in Zagreb, in University of Sorbonne in Paris and has completed PhD at the Law Faculty in Ljubljana. In 1987 has completed Postdoctoral studies in University of Sorbonne in Paris. He has been president of society for criminal law and criminology of Kosova and from 1987-1995 was chief editor of the magazine “E drejta” (The right). In 1990 has been member of Kosova Constitutional Commission. In two mandates has served as Dean of the Law Faculty. He has taken an active part in the workgroup on drafting the Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Juvenile Criminal Law, Law on Execution of Criminal Sanctions and in many laws of other fields. For forty years of pedagogical and scientific work on capacity building of lawyers of Kosova and contribution in building of justice system of Kosova were allocated gratitude. Dr. Salihu is author of around 50 scientific and professional works from the criminal field.
Academic Alajdin Abazi is Rector of the Southeast European University. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Zagreb, Croatia (1965), where he registered also postgraduate studies and in 1973, has defended the Master’s thesis, in the subject of electro techniques, with title: “Preservation and neutralization of static load on the insulating films”. From 1966 till 1969, has worked as professional engineer. In 1969 was engaged in the Electro technical Faculty of University of Prishtina, where once worked also as Dean of Technical Faculty 1979-1981. In 1985 earns the title of the ordinary professor for subject “Electromagnetic”, in the department of the Electro technical Theory in Technical Faculty of University of Prishtina. From 1982 till 1990, beside its academic work, has exercised also the duty of the chairman of the Board at the Institute for scientific researches and development “Inkos” and that of the Deputy Chairman of the Kosova Electro-Economy Board. He was member of the Yugoslav-American Corporation Board for science and research. Dr. Abazi has published more than 50 scientific works and university texts. He has taken part in a large number of scientific projects. In 2001, professor Abazi was appointed Director of Foundation of EJL University of Tetova. After completing constructions, respectively, after the opening of the University, he was appointed Rector of the Southeast European University.
– Prof. Dr. Sigurd Höllinger, is senior advisor of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy of the Republic of Austria. He served as senior consultant of the World Bank and European Commission for the field of higher education. From 2008 has served as consultant for higher education of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Kosova. Dr. Höllinger has served for 19 years as General Director for Higher Education in the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy of the Republic of Austria (1986-2005). Currently, he is Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Republic of Austria. Dr. Höllinger has a long career of engagement and expertise in the field of higher education, in its contribution in development of university autonomy and Bologna Statement and in particular in its contribution for the membership of the Republic of Kosova in the European Space of Higher Education. Recently, he has been among main international experts in the process of Law review of the Law on higher education in the Republic of Kosova.
-Associ. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Latifi is professor in the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”. He in 1985 has conducted with excellent success the Technical Faculty in University of Prishtina. After completing studies he has worked as teacher of Machinery subjects, then as engineer in the Industry of Accumulators in Mitrovica and in the Factory of Hunting Ammunition in Skenderaj. In 2002 completed Master studies, while after 5 years earned the degree-Doctor of Science. Professor Latifi from 2001 has been teacher in the faculty of Technical and Applied Sciences in Mitrovica.
