The Deputy Minister of Education, Edona Maloku-Bërdyna, on the International Day of Education, visited the Music School “Tefta Tashko” in Mitrovica, where she was received in a warm atmosphere by the principal Valbona Prekazi, the team and the students of this school.
Deputy Minister Maloku Bërdyna was informed about the achievements of the school over the years, counting a series of international successes that the school had achieved in the field of music.
In line with this year’s theme “investing in people and making education a priority”, the deputy minister informed the school collective about the increase in the education budget by 12% this year and spoke about the areas of priorities in improving quality, inclusiveness and equality in education.
She also highlighted the cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, which this year will bring substantial investments for the improvement of art and sports in schools at the national level.
Otherwise, the “Tefta Tashko” music school in Mitrovica proved to be a good example of inclusiveness and equality. In addition to including children with special needs, this school has been led primarily by women throughout its nearly 70 years of existence.
International Education Day is a day that promotes the right to education as a fundamental right and a public good that helps social development.
