The acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, visited today the “Mitrush Kuteli” primary and lower secondary school in Prishtina, where she was closely acquainted with the work of the educational staff and the involvement of students in the educational process.
During the visit, Minister Nagavci emphasized that one of the main goals of the Ministry of Education remains providing equal opportunities for all students and fully respecting the principle of inclusion in schools.
“As a government and as the Ministry of Education, we have aimed to create equal conditions for every student. In this regard, we have budgeted for the employment of 500 assistants for children with special needs, taking care not only of the budget allocation and job planning, but also of the preparation of staff. “So far, seven generations of young people have completed training under the ‘Pearson’ program of fifth-level qualifications, with the aim of providing adequate support for children with special needs in educational institutions,” she said.
The Minister also emphasized that a significant number of teachers have been trained in the design and implementation of individual educational plans, both for children with special needs and for those with special talents and gifts.
In addition to the teaching staff, Nagavci was also welcomed by the parents and students of this school who informed him about the challenges and work being done to strengthen inclusion and develop the talents of students.
