The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, in collaboration with the KosEd project, has launched a series of regional meetings with the aim of presenting the Regulation on the procedures for the selection and appointment of directors, deputy directors, teachers and other educational personnel in public pre-university educational institutions.

The purpose of these meetings is to provide guidance and clarification to MEDs and selection committees, focusing on the implementation of the regulation and the use of forms and guidelines for transparent and efficient recruitment of personnel.

Acting Director of Pre-University Education, Avni Rexha, emphasized the great importance of this Regulation for the education system in Kosova. He noted that the Regulation is a key step towards improving the recruitment process in educational institutions, ensuring that the most qualified individuals are selected for leadership and teaching positions.

“”This regulation aims to ensure a more transparent, fair and efficient approach to recruitment, enabling schools and municipalities to have more flexibility to meet their needs in real time,” said Acting Director Rexha.

Among other things, he emphasized that, through this regulation, it is also intended to increase the quality of education, by bringing into the system teachers and leaders who are better prepared to respond to challenges and demands at the classroom and school level.

Drilon Krasniqi, KosEd project expert, emphasized the important support that the KosEd project has provided during the drafting and implementation of the new regulation. He explained that KosEd experts have collaborated closely with MESTI to draft guidelines and forms to be used by the selection committees, ensuring that the recruitment process is as easy and clear as possible for all participants.

“This support aims to ensure that the implementation of the regulation is unified across all municipalities and educational institutions, equipping them with the necessary tools to select the most qualified personnel and guarantee fair and transparent recruitment,” Krasniqi emphasized.

The expected results from the implementation of this Regulation include a more accountable and efficient recruitment system, with benefits such as the creation of waiting lists for selected teachers, the possibility of temporary recruitment of qualified personnel, and rapid replacements for teachers who are absent for justified reasons.
