The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) has organized today the recognition ceremony for the first 12th beneficiaries of the new scheme “Research-based teaching”.
This scheme, applied for the first time by MESTI in cooperation with the QAINT project, has offered rewards to academic staff who have included research work with students in the teaching process, as well as supported them with grants for the implementation of new teaching projects based on research.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Education, Edona Maloku Bërdyna emphasized that the purpose of this activity is to strengthen the research work in our higher education institutions, enabling the participation and development of students in this direction. Congratulating the beneficiaries on the awards, she also said that all applications have undergone a double evaluation by local and international researchers and these awards have gone through a rigorous evaluation process.
These schemes, said Deputy Minister Maloku Bërdyna, are already included in the National Science Program, which is being finalized. She added that all this work is being done in order to encourage and support scientific research in the country and to increase our potential on the international stage, especially after Kosovo’s participation as an associated state in Horizon Europe.
The Deputy Minister thanked the State of Austria, the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the implementing organizations for their cooperation in this activity, while she wished the beneficiaries of this scheme success in their scientific work.
The head of the ADA Office in Kosova, Sandra Horina, also spoke about the importance of this scheme, who, among other things, said that the general quality for young academics should and will be improved. She added that she has found reliable and supportive partners in MESTI and thanked her for the fruitful cooperation in this valuable initiative.
