Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Arsim Bajrami has hosted today representatives of three American universities: “James Madison”, “Christopher Newport” and “Eastern Mennonite”, with who has discussed on cooperation opportunities in higher education.
Minister Bajrami has thanked USA for everything that did for our country. While speaking about the state of education in Kosova, the minister said that we have decided priority the quality increase in education, which is primary sector where half of the population is involved.
Minister Bajrami stressed that the American Government, now is supporting higher education with 25 million dollars, with a project that deals with leadership transformation and in this regard, cooperation with American universities is very important.
“We are interested to send in American universities students, especially for master and doctoral studies, to send teachers in order to see teaching methods, but also to bring American professors in Kosova, especially in postgraduate studies”, said minister Bajrami, while stressed that Kosova has six public universities, therefore has stressed the need for preparation of new staff and this cooperation will affect in quality increase of higher education.
Representatives of universities stressed their readiness for cooperation and were interested for fields for which Kosova needs most, for preparation of new staff. While, minister Bajrami stressed that has need for all fields, but more in natural sciences.
