The Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg, Franz Fayot with associates, is paying an official visit to Kosova, where several activities have taken place, focusing on deepening cooperation between Kosova and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In the annual meeting of the Partnership Commission between the Republic of Kosova and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, which was attended by Minister Arbërie Nagavci, was discussed the progress and challenges in the implementation of Luxembourg development support in Kosova in the field of health, education and vocational training. as well as EU integration under the bilateral agreement 2017-2020, which was extended until 2022.
In this meeting, both sides discussed a new bilateral Agreement 2023-25 and a new Memorandum of Understanding for 3 years, which will reflect mutually agreed interventions in selected areas for future cooperation.
Meanwhile, Minister Fayot, accompanied by Minister Arbërie Nagavci and the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, also visited the facility where the works are underway to establish the ICT Competence Center in Prishtina, which is an investment within the project LuxDev, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
This Center will be functionalized by renovating the old economic school in Prishtina and a space of part of the old building of the Faculty of Agriculture, while after the renovation it will be equipped with the most sophisticated equipment for the realization of dual learning and achieving the highest competencies, namely the preparation of qualified people for the labor market.
Minister Nagavci thanked Minister Fayot for the great support that his country has given to the development of education, especially in education and vocational training, an area in which the Government of Kosova has a priority.
In this Competence Center, which is expected to be finalized in September of this year, the following profiles will be opened: Graphic Technician, Business Informatics Technician, ICT Systems Technician, Interactive Media Design Technician, Application Developer. All programs are three-year programs.
