The foudation stone of the new “Nonda Bulku” school and kindergarten in North Mitrovica has been laid

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, the acting Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, and the Mayor of the Municipality of North Mitrovica, Erden Atiq, participated in the ceremony of laying the foudation stone of the new “Nonda Bulku” school and kindergarten in the Bosnian neighborhood, in North Mitrovica.

These projects are an investment of the Ministry of Education, worth 4,152,963.50 euros, which includes the construction of two new modern educational facilities, with appropriate conditions for the development of teaching and early education.

In his speech, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of this investment in improving educational conditions in the north of the country, adding that the works will last 18 months, with the aim of the school and kindergarten being inaugurated in the spring of 2027. He thanked all those who have contributed to the initiative and implementation of this important project.

Minister Nagavci emphasized the commitment of MESTI to ensuring equal access to education for all children in the Republic of Kosovo, announcing that projects for the construction of another new school are also in the preparatory phase in North Mitrovica.

The Mayor of North Mitrovica, Erden Atiq, described this day as historic for the local community, emphasizing that the construction of these two educational facilities will significantly impact the improvement of the lives and development of children in this part of the country.

The school building will have an area of ​​2,574 square meters and will provide education for about 400 students, while the kindergarten building will have an area of ​​761 square meters, with a capacity for about 70 children.

Within the complex, nine classrooms for the primary school and one classroom for the kindergarten will be built, as well as a library, a teachers’ hall, teaching rooms and auxiliary spaces, guaranteeing contemporary standards for quality teaching and learning.
