The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, visited today the “Përparimi” Resource Center in Prishtina, as part of MASHTI’s ongoing support for the development and strengthening of educational services for children and students with special educational needs.
During the visit, Minister Nagavci met with the management staff and the new groups that are pursuing the qualification for assistants, appreciating their hard work and dedication in providing a comprehensive and quality education.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the fifth level qualification “Assistant for children/students with special educational needs”, which is being successfully implemented throughout Kosovo, including in resource centers as branches of the Center of Competence in Ferizaj. She emphasized that this program, developed in partnership with the Pearson international organization and the LuxDev project, is a success story for the Kosova education system.

“This new qualification is a big step towards equality and inclusion in education. I am happy that more and more young men and women are being trained to be close to children with special needs, directly influencing the improvement of their quality of life and education,” said Minister Nagavci.
She added that the Ministry will continue to invest in the development of new and necessary qualifications for the labor market, with a special focus on the field of inclusive education.
Within the framework of this program, 480 candidates have graduated, while the seventh generation with 270 candidates is completing their qualification, bringing the total number of graduates to 750. Candidates for this program come from all municipalities of Kosova, which guarantees the provision of services for children with special educational needs in every corner of the country.
