Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Arsim Bajrami took part in the ceremony marking the 47th anniversary of establishment of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.
Minister Bajrami on this occasion said that the University of Prishtina is an important institution in the history of the Republic of Kosova and that each event of resistance, freedom, independence and state-building has begun at the University of Prishtina.
“All of us are proud of the half-century journey of this University, which has been as much as academic institution, as well as national institution and on this occasion, allow me to express my respect and gratitude for the founders of this University, teachers who aren’t among us and students who fell during the liberation war. We will always remember with dignity the role that this university has had”, emphasized the Minister.
Minister Bajrami also said that after realizing the mission of freedom and independence, for which this university has the main merits, we should turn to the current mission: the country’s economic development.
The government of Kosova, said the Minister, will continue to support the UP, to fully realize the academic and financial autonomy and adaptation of study programs to the needs of the labour market.
At the end of the ceremony were awarded recognition for one of the professors and students from the 13 academic units of UP.
