On the occasion of marking the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, the role and resistance of the UP in the fight for freedom and independence of the Republic of Kosova was highly appreciated. The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said that freedom and the state of Kosova are inseparable with the University of Prishtina.
“This university bearing the name of a great patriot and intellectual like Hasan Prishtina, is an emblem of peace and war for freedom and independence of Kosova”, said President Hashim Thaçi, who also talked about the importance of this institution at a time when Kosovo is moving to another important period, that of strengthening the international subjectivity of our state.
Rector of “Hasan Prishtina” University, Marjan Dema on behalf of management, academic staff, administrative staff and students, congratulated the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the University, saying that the people of Kosova are marking three major events, the 550th anniversary of Scanderbeg’s death, 10th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence and 48th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”. Rector Dema spoke about the successes of the University of Prishtina, the results that UP students are showing in the international arena and the success of academic staff.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Arber Geci said that the ceremony of the establishment of the 48th anniversary of UP is a special moment to remember the will, dedication, sacrifice and commitment of a whole nation for knowledge and education.
Deputy Minister Geci on behalf of Minister Bytyqi conveyed the best wishes for this anniversary, convinced that entire generations were sacrificed to raise and protect this institution of knowledge and hope.
“The establishment of the University of Prishtina was the most important event in the area of education and education of the people of Kosovo. This was the turning point for a bright future for our country. At this university were cultivated high national values and initiatives that shaped the fair and historic goal for independence of the state of Kosova”, underlined Deputy Minister Geci.
Deputy Minister Geci also said that the name of the intellectual and patriot held by the University of Prishtina is evidence that our people have been born and raised intellectuals eager for knowledge and education.
The ceremony marking the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” was attended by important figures of the country, ambassadors, rectors, representatives of ASAK, UP leaders, senators, professors, students etc..
