State Council for Teacher Licensing is established

Acting Minister Arbërie Nagavci today attended the meeting of the State Council for Teacher Licensing, where this council was established and elected the new leadership: chairwoman Anita Kadriu and vice chairwoman Edi Gaxha Puka, who will lead the work of the Council in the next mandate.

The Minister thanked all members for their commitment and responsibilities, highly appreciating their contribution to the licensing processes, which are essential for the functioning and development of the pre-university education system.

She emphasized that the role of the Council remains central in ensuring the professional standards of teachers and that so far it has acted independently and professionally, facing legal and inter-institutional challenges.

“There is a lot of work ahead and I am extremely grateful for the Council’s commitment so far,” said Minister Nagavci.

She added that some challenges stem from current legislation, inter-institutional issues, and legal and financial constraints, but that MESTI remains committed to supporting the Council, ensuring that licensing processes are efficient, transparent, and in the service of increasing quality in education.

The Council members expressed their willingness to continue their commitment to improving the quality of education and to working closely with the Ministry.
