The acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, participated today in the activity organized at the “Iliria” Primary and Lower Secondary School in Prishtina, within the framework of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”, emphasizing the importance of schools in preventing any form of violence, through quality education, values of respect and the development of social and emotional competencies in children.
Minister Nagavci, in her speech to the students and educational staff of the school, emphasized that MESTI remains committed to the implementation of the Istanbul Convention and strengthening the role of education in preventing gender-based violence.
Nagavci recalled that the Ministry has drafted documents dedicated to schools, such as the Information Guide for Standard Procedures for Action in Protection from Domestic Violence, the Information Guide for the Istanbul Convention and the Guide for Teachers and Education Professionals on the Identification and Prevention of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, which support the creation of a safe and inclusive environment for students.
Meanwhile, Merita Jonuzi from MESTI presented the content of the Guide for Teachers and Education Professionals on the Identification and Prevention of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence to students and educational staff, providing practical explanations for its implementation in school.
At the end of the activity, the students of the “Iliria” school, based on the MESTI guidelines, presented an awareness-raising video and a short artistic program against domestic violence and violence against women, demonstrating their commitment to awareness and education.
