On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, participated in the activity organized by the “Përparimi” Resource Center, which was held under this year’s motto: “Building an inclusive society for persons with disabilities as a basis for social progress.”
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities aims to raise awareness about the rights, inclusion and equal opportunities of persons with disabilities in education, work and society.
Minister Nagavci emphasizes the importance of an inclusive society, where every child has equal opportunities for education, development and a life with dignity. Students with disabilities are an inseparable part of the community and have extraordinary talent and potential. The Ministry of Education works towards a system where inclusion is a daily practice, through equal access to education, professional support and the use of assistive technology.
Nagavci reaffirms that no one should be discriminated against or excluded. Inclusion is a human value that requires collaboration with families, professionals and society, creating schools and communities that empower every child and provide equal opportunities for all.
Meanwhile, Drita Dushi, Director of the “Përparimi” Resource Center, emphasized that the International Day of Persons with Disabilities reminds us of the importance of equality and inclusion. At the center, children and young people with disabilities are supported to develop their talents and potential. Disability is not an obstacle, but part of human diversity, and this day serves as a call to action towards a more inclusive and just society.
