On December 31, 2025, the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation was informed through media reports regarding the indictment raised by the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo against 12 officials of the Ministry, while up to now it has not received any official notification or decision from the competent institutions in relation to this matter.

MESTI welcomes and respects the work of the independent institutions of justice and will remain open and transparent in relation to any official developments. At the same time, the Ministry emphasizes the respect for the principle of presumption of innocence, as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.

Furthermore, MESTI values the role of the media in informing the public and encourages reporting to be accurate, fact-based, and in line with professional journalism standards, so as to avoid incorrect or generalized interpretations which may lead to public misinformation, harm judicial processes, and undermine institutional integrity.

In addition, MESTI requests that during reporting, the legal right to the protection of personal and sensitive data be respected, in accordance with Law No. 06/L-082 on the Protection of Personal Data, as well as other applicable legislation in force.

The Ministry remains committed to institutional transparency and accountability, in the function of fair and correct public information.
