The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci has participated in the meeting of the Commission for Education, Science, Technology, Innovation, Culture, Youth and Sport, in the review of the Draft law no. 08/L-207 on Textbooks, with all proposed amedmends.
At today’s meeting of the Commission, all amendments to this Draft Law were passed.
Innovations in the Draft Law on Textbooks:
– Application with manuscripts directly from the Authors and their ongoing support through capacity building;
– Providing competent and accountable reviewers who will undergo the capacity building program and ultimately the certification process;
– Piloting of textbooks during the technical preparation that preceded the decision to publish;
– Continuous review of textbooks, open to comments from all relevant stakeholders throughout the year;
– In line with our strategic goal of digitization in education, with this Draft Law we have also regulated the possibilities for providing digital textbooks and teaching materials.
This Draft law represents the essential legislation for ensuring quality in education in the Republic of Kosova and is very important in terms of achieving the goals of providing quality textbooks for our children.
After the approval of the amendments to the Draft Law at the Commission for Education, the same was processed for reviewing by the permanent parliamentary commissions.
