The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci participated in the activity organized by the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the NGO “Jeta-Vita”, within the framework of breast cancer awareness month.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on this occasion that the Government of Kosovo has taken care of the treatment of this disease, offering free mammograms and other conditions for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer.
“”We are responsible for maintaining and caring for our health, especially for girls and women. This disease requires increased care. Breast cancer is now one of the most treatable cancers,” Kurti said, among other things.
In her speech, Minister Nagavci emphasized the unquestionable importance of self-care, saying that fortunately today we have increased opportunities for the control, detection, prevention and successful treatment of breast cancer.
Nagavci said that schools are fundamental forums where awareness of overall health is developed, and during this mandate, work has been done on several fronts simultaneously, taking concrete actions aimed at overall healthy education.
Minister Nagavci announced that, within the framework of this commitment, the Health Promoting Schools Program has been implemented with the motto “Health for All”, trainings have been held with teachers, where lectures have also been held on mental health as an important part of overall health, help manuals and video materials on sexual health and the prevention of sexual violence in schools have been promoted, lectures have been organized on the dangers of narcotic substances, etc.
In the end, Nagavci said that our job as institutions is to create the right conditions for every citizen to live healthy, while adding that our doors are always open for any support we are able to offer.
Nafije Latifi, director of the organization “Jeta-Vita”, called on participants to take care of their health and that of their families, as only early care is survival.
