MESTI AND OEK SIGNED A COOPERATION MEMORANDUM

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Chamber of Commerce of Kosova have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the implementation of dual education in the Republic of Kosova, one of the main priorities of the Government, considering it as a path towards the development of society and the economy of the country.

In the wake of the actions for the implementation of dual education, by the decision of the Prime Minister, two national bodies were established, namely the Executive Commission for the Development of the System of Education and Vocational Training Against the Needs of the Labor Market and the Task Force for the Initiation and Implementation of Dual Education in Kosova.

The Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, on the occasion of signing this Agreement, emphasized that there can be no professional education and training, let alone dual education, without the commitment of enterprises and the Chamber in this case.

Minister Nagavci requested a commitment from everyone that this policy, which leads to the development of the workforce, and then to economic development, should be a priority for other stakeholders, and in particular the Chamber of Commerce.

Whereas, Lulzim Rafuna, president of OEK, promised that he will be alongside the businesses that they represent as a Chamber, but also engaging the regional offices and will fulfill the obligations arising from this Agreement, with the aim of fully implementing dual education.

Rafuna also emphasized the need for dual education since it will be a system that will closely connect companies with their future workers, from their beginnings in the profession. The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has initiated dual learning within the framework of new policies, as this modality will offer young people faster opportunities to penetrate the labor market, while businesses and enterprises necessary professionals.

Within this framework, MESTI has already started piloting dual education in 12 profiles, in 21 vocational schools, in 14 different municipalities, to continue in the future with other profiles, based on the requirements of the labor market, respectively enterprises.
