A conference on the inclusion in education of students returned from migration was held

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – GIZ GmbH, organized a conference in which a public presentation of the inclusion in the education of students returned from migration and students of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.

This conference aimed to support the public dialogue on the issue of inclusion in education of returnees from exile and ethnic minorities in the education system.

On behalf of Minister Bytyqi with a speech, the attendees welcomed the counselor Valmir Gashi, who among other things said that inclusion is one of the pillars of quality education for all children in Kosova.

Gashi also said that participation and inclusiveness is the first objective of the Strategic Development Plan of Education 2017/2021 and is also one of the foundations of creating a society with equal opportunities to all.

In this context, MEST has foreseen concrete results for increasing the inclusion of children from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, as well as for inclusion of repatriated children in the education system.

The attendees also welcomed the director of GIZ for Kosovo and Macedonia, James Macbeth Forbes. In this conference were also presented examples and best practices from the country and the region regarding the reintegration of students in the country of origi.
