With deep sorrow, we received the news of the passing of one of the first professors of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Haki Dushi.

Professor Dushi was born in Gjakova, where he completed part of his basic schooling, which he later continued in Peja.

He completed his higher studies in the field of economics at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade in 1959. From 1964, he worked as a lecturer at the Higher Commercial School in Peja, where he taught the subject Fundamentals of Accounting. Beginning in 1969, he taught the same subject at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Prishtina.

He pursued postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb, where he defended his master’s thesis, and in 1978 he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Prishtina, also in the field of accounting.

He served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics for two terms, Head of the Department of Accounting, Mathematics, and Statistics, as well as lecturer at several universities and private colleges. Professor Dushi published numerous scientific papers in professional journals both locally and internationally.

His contribution to the development of higher education and to the formation of generations of economists in Kosovo will remain valuable and unforgettable.
