Acting Minister Nagavci visited the Resource Center “Mother Teresa” in Mitrovica

Acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, accompanied by the head of the Division for Education with Special Needs, Salihe Osmankaq, visited the Resource Center “Mother Teresa” in Mitrovica, where they were received by the center’s director, Skender Avdiu.

The Resource Center “Mother Teresa” currently provides educational services for 57 students with severe and multiple disabilities, playing an important role in the education and inclusion of children with limited abilities.

Minister Nagavci emphasized that MESTI will continue to provide sustainable institutional and financial support for resource centers, with the aim of continuously improving teaching conditions and increasing the quality of educational services for students with special needs.

Director Skender Avdiu emphasized that an important reform has been undertaken in this Center, through the decision to change the educational profiles at the upper secondary level.

With this reform, the existing high-risk directions have been replaced with more suitable and safer profiles: food technology (cooking) and horticulture.

In conclusion, Minister Nagavci emphasized that MESTI remains committed to advancing inclusive education, by ensuring adapted, safe, and functional educational profiles for students with special needs.
