The foundation stone of the new primary school was laid today in the Kroi i Vitakut neighborhood in North Mitrovica, a project that marks an important step in improving the educational infrastructure and creating better conditions for the development of the learning process for students in this area.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, the acting Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, the acting Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, the Mayor of North Mitrovica, Erden Atiq, and the senior political advisor to the acting Minister of Education, Muhedin Nushi.

Minister Sveçla said that this is the next project in terms of educational infrastructure, after the laying of the foudation stone of the kindergarten and the school, which were made official at the beginning of this month.

Mayor Atiq emphasized that the new school is being built based on the Memorandum of Understanding between MESTI and the Ministry of Local Government Administration.

He also announced that the investor of the project is MESTI, while the facility will have an area of ​​1920 m², planned for 350 students, with an investment value of 2,320,160.92 euros and a construction period of 15 months.

In his speech, the senior political advisor, Muhedin Nushi, emphasized that this project is proof of the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosova to provide the best possible conditions for the education of our children. He added that this foundation stone is not only the beginning of a new building, but also of a space where the dreams, knowledge and future of the new generations of this area will be born.

Advisor Nushi also said that since 2021, MESTI has invested a total of 162,459,258.07 euros in educational infrastructure throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosova, while over 75 million euros have been invested in 34 municipalities for the construction and renovation of schools alone. These investments will continue with the aim of creating modern and quality conditions for the development of education at all levels.
