Minister Nagavci at the Ministerial Meeting on Research and Innovation: Kosovo is building strong foundations for science, innovation and ethical use of artificial intelligence

The acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, is participating in the Ministerial Meeting of the Steering Platform for Research and Innovation, which is being held in Podgorica, Montenegro.

In her address to the ministers of the region and representatives of the European Union, Minister Nagavci emphasized that Kosova is building strong foundations for the development of scientific research, innovation and ethical use of artificial intelligence, in accordance with EU standards and policies.

She mentioned the National Science Program, the new law on scientific research activities, as well as investments in research infrastructure through projects such as the Kosova Research Information System (KRIS) and the establishment of the National Observatory and Planetarium.

“Kosova is committed to building a research and innovation ecosystem based on European values ​​– quality, transparency and ethics. Even small systems can achieve great progress when guided by vision and cooperation,” stated Minister Nagavci.

In the field of artificial intelligence, the Minister highlighted Kosova’s alignment with the European Act on Artificial Intelligence and initiatives that promote the responsible use of AI in education and research, including the establishment of the Center for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Pristina.

The Ministerial Meeting on Research and Innovation serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and fostering cooperation between countries in the region and the European Union in the fields of research, innovation and technology.
