Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Heset Sahiti hosted Elvana Shala the Ambassador of the good will for Kosova of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), on which occasion accepted the report released from the awareness campaign against discrimination of the survivals of sexual violenceduring the war in Kosova, with the motto “A yarn of light”.
In this meeting Deputy Minister Sahiti and Ambassador Shala discused on opportunities and the inclusion patterns of recommendations from awareness campaigns “A yarn of light”, in school textbooks of history for the afterwar period in Kosova, the tragic namely the sexual violence of women during this period.
Deputy Minister Sahiti, expressed regret over what Kosovar women suffered during the war, once he said that society and our state should take into consideration the special status of this category in our society.
According to Ambassador Shala, in the mentioned report and the recommendations issued, most of the survivors of sexual violence are asked by the Government of the Republic of Kosova, Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the Ministry of Education, to take greater care of this category in different segments of life.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education is required to have substantive space in textbooks for heroism of women and their tragic during the war in Kosova. The report also is noted that in any textbook of the glorious history of Kosovo, is not mentioned the barbaric crime of sexual violence against women.
